Nordic Junior Athletics Championships U20
Hafnarfjörður Iceland 2016

With a great pleasure we welcome you to Hafnarfjörður Iceland were the Nordic Junior Athletics Championships U20 will take place at Kaplakriki stadium, located only 10 km from the city centre of Reykjavík.


All visiting team members will arrive at Keflavik airport. Transport from the airport to the hotels and hostels will be arranged. Transport between Kaplakriki stadium and the hotels and hostels will be announced at the technical meeting on Friday and the information will also be available at the hostels and hotels front desk.

Participants will be staying at two hotels and two hostels in Reykjavík.

The Norwegians, will be staying at Reykjavík City Hostel and the Finns, will be staying at Hostel Oddsson

The Swedes, will be staying at Hotel Reykjavik lights and the Danes, will be staying at Hotel Cabin

Breakfast will be served at the hotels and hostels and a snack will be delivered in Kaplakriki for lunch.

Dinner will be served on Friday and Saturday night in a Banquet Hall which is located in Kaplakriki. On Sunday there will be Final Banquet after the Event also located in Kaplakriki.

Dinner will be served on Friday from 18:00-20:00, on Saturday from 16:00-17:30 and Final Banquet on Sunday from 12:00-15:00.

Timetable for dinner and transport will be published after confirmation of teams travelling timetables and competition timetable.

Technical Meeting

Technical Meeting will be held at 18:00 on Friday in Kaplakriki Hafnarfjörður.

Timetable for the Championships

The athletics meet will be held on Saturday, from 12:45 to 15:30 and on Sunday from 10:20 to 13:10 – this is the  timetable.

Competition information of the Championships

The Championships will be organised according to the programme, rules and financial condition explained in the Nordic Handbook 2016. Please see Chapter 3.1 for General Regulations which are common to all Championships in the Nordic programme and Chapter 3.3 for the Special Regulations of the Nordic U20 Match & Championships.

Final entry

Please submit final entries with names, year of birth and best performances (PB) and seasonal best (SB) plus names of team officials no later than August 8th to fri@fri.is. The entry form you will find here.


On Sunday after the competition has finished, buses will be arranged for transportation.
